Masao Jerry Mochizuki 1936 - 2013Masao Jerry Mochizuki, 77 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2013 after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's.Born in Bingham, Utah on January 4, 1936 to Jiro and Kuniko Mochizuki he was the youngest of 8 children. He was a dedicated employee of Kennecott Copper for 33 years where he took an early retirement and then began working again for Ken Garff Enterprises for the next several years. Jerry was an incredibly hard working man and used his many talents to help others. In his earlier years he would spend most of his spare time working in the yard and took great pride in his landscaping. In his free time, Jerry also enjoyed art, bowling, and good conversation. He loved to laugh, joke, and could make everyone around him happy. As a devoted and loving father, he taught his children the value of family and friends.Jerry is survived by his wife Keiko, two sons Tracy (Jalene) and Mark (Natalie); two daughters Carolyn (Adam) and Lisa (Chris); 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, his brothers Takeo (Mary), Sam (Ayako), and George (Sue); sisters Connie, Jane (Aki Fujinami), and sister-in-law Kou Mochizuki. He is predeceased by two brothers Minoru, Mitsuo and parents.Funeral services to remember his life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30pm prior to the services.
