AUSTIN, Texas — The five Utah Valley University athletes in the NCAA Track First/Second Rounds completed their seasons at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas this weekend.

Due to lightning and rain in the Austin area, competition was delayed nearly three hours Friday, and student-athletes Nicholas Taylor and Michael McPherson, who were competing in the men's 200 meters didn't compete until after 11 p.m. local time, while Brooke Hodson-Davies, who was competing in the women's 3,000 steeplechase, didn't compete until nearly midnight local time.

Maryn Pincock, who competed in the discus, began her competition at noon and wasn't affected by the weather, which rolled into the area and halted competition around 4 p.m. local time. She placed 28th in the event with a throw of 47.39 meters.

McKell Camp-Nielson competed in the women's javelin Saturday and had a toss of 48.21 meters in the preliminaries but didn't advance to the finals.

Friday, Taylor placed 36th (21.62) and McPherson placed 44th (21.82) in the preliminaries in the 200 meters and didn't advance to the second round, while Hodson-Davies (11:09.43) placed 47th in the steeplechase. The top three runners from each of the three heats and the three top times thereafter advanced to the next round.

Thursday night, McPherson (7.24 meters) placed 31st in the preliminaries of the long jump.
