MARION, Ind. — Oliver Lange of the Westminster College track and field team finished in sixth place in the men’s marathon at the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships on Saturday. The meet was hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.

Competing in the marathon at the national championships for a second straight year, Lange finished this year’s race with a time of 2:31:01 to establish a new school record in the event. He finished second among all juniors in the 46-man field. Nathan Martin from Spring Arbor (Mich.) won the race by setting a new NAIA National Championships record time of 2:19:18.

Lange was named a NAIA All-American in the event after last season’s fifth-place finish and is expected to receive the honor again this year. The official list of All-Americans will be announced next week by the NAIA national office.
