Karl Kundis1930 ~ 2013Whether he was our Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa or "GampaGate," he was loving and important in our lives. On Friday, May 24, 2013, Karl Heinz Kundis, having prepared and looking forward to other wonderful things, peacefully moved on. He was born in Breslau Germany on Dec. 27, 1930, to Walter and Margarete Kundis. His schooling certified him as an electrician. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called as a missionary to the Frankfurt ,West Germany, Mission. He held many callings in the church, but enjoyed teaching the most. He migrated to the U.S. in 1959 and soon became a successful Salesman for All Makes Typewriter for more than 40 years. Dad married Ingrid Edith Kuepper in the SLC Temple on February 26, 1960 (later divorced.) He enjoyed motorcycles, San Diego beaches, and was a talented barbershop singer with the Beehive Statesmen. He is survived by his children, Dean (Chris) Kundis, Heidi (Dennis) Gerber, Tomas (Marina) Kundis, grandchildren, Joshua (Hillary), Kevin (Annie), Garrett (Sammy), Matthew, Melina Kundis, and great-grandson, Landon, sisters, Ursula (Paul) DeHaan, Ingrid (Gert) Kroek, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and Ingrid Kundis. A viewing will be held on Wed., May 29, 2013, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, West Jordan, with a graveside service immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
