SALT LAKE CITY — A Stansbury Park man has pleaded guilty to using four children to produce child pornography.
John Reid Clayton, 29, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a single count of production of child pornography. Clayton admitted to using four minor children, born between 2007 and 2011, to engage in explicit conduct "for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct" with the use of cameras and computers that had been shipped through interstate commerce, according to court documents.
Clayton was originally facing four counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, but the additional charges were dismissed in exchange for his plea. At his sentencing hearing set for July 16, Clayton faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and up to 30 years in prison.
The man has also been ordered to undergo a psychosexual exam before sentencing, register as a sex offender and pay restitution in an amount to be determined at sentencing. He is also required to forfeit his property relating to the crime.
