SALT LAKE CITY —The Utah Blaze were looking for a remedy to change the course of their season and to rid themselves of a plague of turnovers that had haunted the team during a three-game slide.
Although they have yet to be clinically proven, the Blaze certainly felt healthy against Cleveland. Utah outscored the Gladiators 22-0 in the third quarter, snagging two interceptions and forcing one four-and-out in the process. Now, with a chance to pull within .500 again, the West Division-leading Spokane Shock (5-1) enters EnergySolutions Arena at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Shock is fresh off its first loss of the season against Tampa Bay but still ranks second in points per game (67.7) and fourth in passing (293.2 ypg). Quarterback Erik Meyer leads the AFL with 1,779 yards and 47 touchdowns.
