Arlene Peters Ganung1927 ~ 2013Cottonwood Heights, UTWife, mother and grandmother, Arlene Peters Ganung was born March 12, 1927 in American Fork Utah. She was the second youngest of 11 children born to James E. Peters and Eliza Chipman Peters. She attended both American Fork High School and Brigham Young University.Arlene grew up in challenging times during the Great Depression and World War II. She served her country as an army secretary at Deseret Chemical and Dugway Proving Grounds where she met the love of her life Carl Ganung to whom she has been married to for 56 years.Her happiest times were spent with family and friends at antique shows, horse racing, bowling or playing bridge. She especially loved family events where relatives could socialize and spend time together. Arlene enjoyed teaching primary classes in earlier years.She is survived by her husband Carl, her son Greg, his wife Stacie and her three grandchildren Jordan, Gavan and Taran. She was predeceased by her parents and all of her 11 brothers and sisters.The family would like to acknowledge the great care Arlene received in her last days from the nurses of Intermountain Hospice with special recognition to nurse Ana. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East. 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday May 10, 2013 at Mountain View Mortuary at the same location.
