Carol "Peggy" Andreasen 1920 ~ 2013Salt Lake City, Utah.Carol "Peggy" AndreasenCarol "Peggy" Grace Andreasen, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died May 2, 2013, at the age of 92, just four day shy of her 93rd birthday. Peggy was born on May 6, 1920 in Salt Lake City, to Roy Meredith Taylor and Olive Jane Bourne Taylor. Graduated from West High School as did her future husband, Willard Gustave Andreasen. Peggy and Willard married on November 16, 1944. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1982. Peggy and Willard enjoyed their lives together for over 57 years until Willard died on July 31, 2002. Mom devoted her life to the care of her husband and family. Worked at Mormon Handicraft. Peggy was a quilter and often stated that "quilting is not a matter of life and death - it is more important than that" because of the eternal friendships developed while quilting. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Peggy served for decades as a devoted teacher to the Primary children. Survived by her children Steven (Phyllis), Seattle; Kristine, North Salt Lake; Dean (Becky), South Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings Esther Johnson, RoyLynn Taylor, and Dean Taylor. Preceded in death by her parents; Willard; a sister, Dawna Bergstrom; and two great-grandsons, Benson and Lincoln Noxon. Appreciation is expressed for the professional and tender care provided by the staffs of the Heritage Place Retirement Center, Good Shepherd Hospice, and Dr. Frederick Gottlieb. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 10, 6:00 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 11, 10:30 11:30 am, at the Rose Park Stake Center, 1150 W 800 N ( East side of the Church), Salt Lake City. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 11, 12:30 pm at Lakeview Memorial Estates, 1640 East Lakeview (app. 700 S) Drive, Bountiful. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Willard and Peggy Andreasen Scholarship Fund for West High graduates established at the University of Utah.
