Karen Lynne McDonell Seamons1948 ~ 2013Karen Lynne Seamons was born on December 17, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joyce Rife McDonell and William Angus McDonell. Karen was the oldest of five children. She attended Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, graduating in 1966. She passed away May 5, 2013 at her home in Provo, Utah.Karen attended Brigham Young University and earned her bachelor's degree in Clothing and Textiles in 1971. While attending BYU, Karen met Ronald Ervin Seamons. They were sealed in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Los Angeles Temple on June 10, 1970. The couple raised their six children in Long Beach, California where they spent 19 years. In 1990 they moved their family to Provo, Utah. Their children were a constant focus during Karen's life; her priority was her eternal family. She dedicated herself to ensuring the physical, mental, and spiritual well being for each of her children. She also loved and enjoyed her 13 grandchildren. She kept their photos displayed throughout her home and loved to share them with all who visited, her grandchildren were a tremendous joy and blessing to her.Karen developed gifted skills in sewing and design. With her great talent she designed clothing for television shows like Touched By An Angel and Promised Land. She also created costumes for the movies Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration and Emma SmithMy Story. Karen enjoyed creating and dressing dolls for the Marie Osmond collection.Through her professional experiences she nurtured a profound love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a very giving person and quietly loved to serve those around her. Through the years her gift of service blessed and enriched the lives of countless individuals near her and around the world. She touched the hearts of all who had the honor of calling her friend. Karen is survived by her husband, Ron and her six children; Lori (Kevin) Hess, Kacie Seamons, Adam (Valerie) Seamons, Rachel (Juan) Johnson, Reed (Kathryn) Seamons, Liz (Robbie) Atkinson. Grandchildren Alexis Seamons, Kelly Hess, Rylee Seamons, Wyatt Hess, Gavin Seamons, Keegan Rappleye, Chandler Atkinson, Shelby Hess, Peyton Seamons, Brynley Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Riverwood Ward, 3700 North 300 West, Provo, Utah, where a viewing will be held 9-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Eastlawn Memorial Park, Provo, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home, Taylorsville, Utah.
