West Valley City celebrates Mexican heritage, culture with fiesta

WEST VALLEY CITY — The Utah Cultural Celebration Center hosted a fiesta Saturday to celebrate Mexican heritage and culture.

The free event featured traditional Mexican music and dance, Aztec ritual performances, food and a ceremonial torch lighting of the Olmec head.

In the gallery, Artes de Mexico en Utah co-presented the popular exhibit "Mexico Then and Now," showcasing Mexico's past through the legendary archive of photographs by Agustin Victor Casasola and contemporary Mexico taken and added by Utah residents.
