Raymond P. Nunley"Paul"On June 8, 2013, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, Raymond Paul Nunley Sr., returned to his happy hunting grounds in the beautiful skies above. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Isaac Raymond Nunley and Rosemoyne Smith on August 29, 1927.Paul married Norma Fay Burns; she passed away. He then married Eileen Gaesswitz; she also preceded him in death. Paul served in the Army Air Corp as a paratrooper. He was a "master painter" and was the owner and operator of Paul Nunley's Painting. Paul was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt and camp with his family. He was also a "master storyteller" and enjoyed making people smile and laugh. The core of his pursuits was his interaction with people. Some of his favorite pastimes were farming, raising tomatoes, eggs, and birds. Paul is survived by his children, Paula (Larry) Jacobsen, Robilyn (Todd) Nielson, Forrest (Deanna), Brenda (Steve) Sparks, Korin VanHouten, Sonja (Chip) Hopkins, April (Gary), Paul, Jr. (Cori), Deloris Nunley; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Raleen) , Lynn (Donna); and sister, Donna Mae. Preceded in death by his son, Kendall Ray; sister, Norma Tanner; brothers, Phil and Sam; 1 great-grandson; and Buff. We will truly miss and always remember the warming crystal blue sparkle in "Cool Hand Luke's eyes, the magic of his soul and the kindness of his heart. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. A viewing will also be at Little Cottonwood 14th LDS Ward, 1160 E.
