Salt Lake City ‘Chill with a Cop’ outreach program starts June 27

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Police Department will hold its monthly outreach called "Chill With a Cop," replacing "Coffee With a Cop" for the summer months.

The event will be held Thursday, June 27, at Smith's in Rose Park, 1174 W. 600 North, from 5-7 p.m. Smith’s will offer a free ice cream or cold soda to anyone who speaks with an officer during that time.

Community Intelligence Officers will be on hand to discuss crime trends and help people resolve public safety issues they may be experiencing.

“Chill with a Cop” also will be held from 5-7 p.m. the fourth Thursday in July at Smith's in Glendale and in August at the Smith’s in Sugar House. The effort is supported by Salt Lake City, Local First Utah and the Downtown Alliance.
