Sitiveni 'Alama Tausinga 01/10/35 ~ 06/14/13SALT LAKE COUNTYSitiveni 'Alama Tausinga, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend returned home to our Heavenly Father on June 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 10, 1935 in 'Otea, Vava'u Tonga to Viliami Lausi'i Piuleini Tausinga and Makeleta Fifita Tausinga. He married Siale Lausi'i Fanua on September 6, 1962; and on December 3, 1968, he was sealed to his wife and family in the Auckland, New Zealand Temple. He is survived by his three children 'Isileli Tupou Tausinga (Mona) of West Jordan, Sisilia Sitoafa Tuai (Mana) of Salt Lake City, and Samuela 'Ahokava Tausinga (Geni) of Lehi; grandchildren: Steven, McKelly, Ryland, Tapanima, Brandon, Calvin, Liekina, Tristan, Siale, Peti, and Samuela; brothers and sisters: Teuila Mafi, Sione Matealona, Lesila Tongia, Paki Motalaha Tausinga, Va'epopua Fungasia, Vikita Tausinga, and Laukau 'Unga. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Siale Lausi'i Fanua Tausinga, his mother and father, Viliami Lausi'i Tausinga and Makeleta Fifita Tausinga, his brothers Sioeli Tui'onetoa Tausinga, Makasini Tausinga, Himinai Tausinga and sister Sisilia Sitoafa Afu. Our father was a man of great character and work ethic. He sacrificed and consecrated all that he had for the welfare of his family, the strengthening of his community and the building up of the Kingdom of God. He counseled with the Lord in all his doings, for he truly knew that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Prov 1:7). He was strong-minded, yet humble before God; driven, yet charitable to his fellowman; solemn, yet relentlessly witty. His legacy will be remembered and recited by friends and family alike. His faith and good works will bear fruit for generations to come. And, his great vision will continue to be fulfilled on earth and beyond the veil. We celebrate the completion of his work in this life as he continues on to labor in the next. Friends may express condolences to the family at the viewing on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Cannon Stake Center, 934 W. Fremont Ave. (1105 So.) from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Memorial Estates on Redwood Road and 6400 South. The family expresses gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful nurses, CNAs, doctors and staff of Hunter Hollow and Angel's Crossing Hospice who oversaw the care of our father before departing from this earthly life.
