Obituary: FLINT, RUTH

Ruth Hickenlooper Flint1919 ~ 2013Salt Lake City, UtahOn June 13, 2013 our loving mother, Ruth Hickenlooper Flint, left this earth to be greeted by Dad, her parents, siblings and dear friend Betty Wells. Mom and Betty were the dynamic duo who began the Festival of Trees in 1971 which has continued to raise millions of dollars for the charity care of patients at Primary Children's Medical Center. The center of Mom's life was service. She valiantly served her family, church and community. Some of the highlights of her service were doing Family History extraction for over 10 years, participating as a hostess at the Relief Society Building, and serving many organizations of the LDS church. She also served as President of the Murray Women's Club. Ruth played the piano for the Sunday Sacrament Service at the Highland Care Center well into her 90's. Ruth was born on November 15, 1919 in Ogden, Utah to Franklin and Ruby Terry Hickenlooper. She married Leon Haight Flint on June 28, 1938 in the Logan, LDS Temple. Survivors are her children Ruth Anne and Brent White of Danville, KY, Nancy and Scott Fletcher of Sandy, Marilee and Terry Evans of Salt Lake City and Robert and Michelle Flint of Bountiful. She is also survived by her sister Marianne Call. Her posterity includes 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The funeral services will be held on Saturday June 22, 2013, 11:00 am at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive. There will be a viewing on Friday evening, June 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary with a viewing on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 am at the church. In honor of Ruth, contributions may be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center.
