Alicia Paez Jackson-SimpsonBeautiful, Elegant, LovingOur beautiful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away suddenly May 29, 2013 with her husband and loving family by her side. Alice was born in Salt Lake City, February 21, 1929 to John and Enedina Paez. Alice married Derril Simpson in 1995. Alice had a 20-year career in Bountiful with "Henry's Carpets". Later she opened her own business "Alicia's Distrib. Co." where she became the 1st woman distributor for World Carpets. In 1991, She was Co-Owner and Vice President of Jackland Investment Corp. She and Derril developed land in the Oregon area. Alice maintained two beautiful homes, one in Bountiful and one in Veneta, Oregon. Ali's greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was one of a kind and there will never be another like her, "Diamonds". Alice is survived by her husband, Derril; daughter, Deborah (Shane) Myers; son, David Sparenberg; grandchildren, Eric Wing (Stacey), Sean Wing, Amanda Johnson, Cassey Scoggin and Courtney Simpson; brother, John (Consuelo) Paez; sisters, Lillie Young, Angela Bowden, Anita (Chuck) Hoffman, Ruth (Keith) Bowcut, Genevieve (Glen) Nygren and Nancy Blair; stepchildren, Terry , Cindy, and Rick Simpson; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters, Mary Filson, Jenny Smith; brother, Simon Paez; husbands, Francis E. Sparenberg, and Leonard A. Jackson; stepson, Patrick Jackson.The family would like to thank C.C. Harlow and her friend Brian for assisting in the Restaurant by calling 911. Also, Dr.Pingree and the staff at St. Mark's Hospital.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan PKWY, ( approx. 10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah. Family and friends may call, Monday, June 3rd, 6-8 p.m., Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, South Jordan, and Tuesday, 1 hour prior to services.
