SALT LAKE CITY — A Layton man pleaded guilty Thursday to robbing a Zions Bank and was sentenced to 66 months in federal prison.
Mark Allen Call, 38, admitted to the Feb. 13 robbery at the Zions Bank at 1420 S. 300 West. He presented a note to the teller demanding cash and left with about $1,800, said Melodie Rydalch, spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office of Utah.
Call entered into a plea agreement with federal prosecutors in April, and prosecutors dismissed a second count of bank robbery alleging that he robbed the same bank the next day.
U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby imposed Call's sentence and also ordered him to pay $2,800 for restitution for both bank robberies and to serve 36 months of supervised release after completing his prison sentence, Rydalch said.
