Joanne N. Andersen Oct. 10, 1930 June 22, 2013Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend Joanne Nelson Andersen, passed away in her home on June 22, 2013 after a 14 month battle with cancer, surrounded by many members of her family. Joanne was born in Ogden, Utah on October 10, 1930 to John and Fern Nelson. She was sealed to her sweetheart, Robert J. Andersen on August 22, 1949 in the Salt Lake temple. Throughout their marriage they were residents of Northern California and Utah.Joanne spent her life giving love and service to her family and to all those around her. For years she cared lovingly and tirelessly for her aging parents. She found joy in serving two LDS missions to Nauvoo, Illinois and another to the Family History Library with her daughter. She also spent countless hours working in the Jordan River Temple. She used all her time and talents to bless the lives of others. Joanne was an excellent seamstress and sewed hundreds of dresses and quilts for children in need all around the world. Her greatest joys in life were faith and family. Her quiet wisdom and example will be missed by all who know and love her. Joanne was preceded in life by her husband Robert and her brother Jack. She is survived by her brother Steve, her children Mark (Debi), Sally (Kevin), Kris (LuAnn) and Diana (Gordon), and her 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren who will always love and treasure her.Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6:30 8:30 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 10:30 AM prior to services at the mortuary. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
