Warren Lyman Forsythe Sr.November 18, 1928 ~ June 1, 2013Warren Lyman Forsythe Sr., 84, passed away in St. George, UT on June 1, 2013 surrounded by a loving family. Warren was born in Salina, UT on November 18, 1928 to Marvin Forsythe and Venice Lyman Forsythe.He was raised in Wayne County where his family was engaged in farming he became an accomplished horseman and stock hand, and a leader in the student body of Wayne County High School. As the oldest surviving son in a family of ten children he learned a strong work ethic and a love of family that would serve him throughout his life. He married Carylee Cannon in July of 1950 in St. George UT, they had 5 children. Warren and Carylee moved their family to Elk Grove, CA in 1956 to participate in the family dairy business and subsequent professional and agricultural endeavors. Growing tired of the CA life style, the family returned to Sevier Co. Utah in 1970 where Warren owned and operated Sigurd Center for many years and operated a ranch in Mayfield. He was also in the Real Estate, Construction and the Trucking business.Warren had a love of high country and good horses. In their later working years Warren and Carylee ran Horse Haven Stables and raised Paint horses in Salina until Carylee's death in 1999. In 2000 Warren married Eloise Brinkerhoff Smith in the Manti Temple. They moved to St. George where they lived a very happy and engaged life involved with relations and close friends. They enjoyed dancing, travel and keeping up with their large combined families that were dear to their hearts.Warren is survived by his wife Eloise; five children, Lyman (Sharla)- Koosharem, Marv (Marie)- Richfield, Kathleen (Bill) Vincent- Maine, Tim (Jana)- Las Vegas and Valerie (Mark) Moore- Taylorsville; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma; and brothers, Arlo and Clifton.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S. Bluff St, St. George, with a viewing from 5:30-6:30 p.m. prior to services. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Teasdale Cemetery, Teasdale, UT.Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, (435) 673-2454.
