Janice Dorothy Jensen Anderson7/12/1934-6/3/2013SLC, UTOur beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully Monday evening surrounded by those she loved. Janice was born July 12, 1934 to Justin and Florence Jensen in Ogden, Utah. She attended and graduated from Ogden High School. Soon after graduation, she married Lamont Anderson, the love of her life in the Salt Lake Temple. They were sealed for eternity June 25, 1952 and would have been celebrating their 61st anniversary in the coming weeks. Janice spent her life living by example and always serving those around her. She had a special way of connecting and caring for those in need. She was a faithful member of the LDS church throughout her life and served many years in different callings, including various positions in Primary and the Relief Society and regularly teaching those around her. She faithfully supported her husband in his various callings and was always willing to help. Janice had no greater love than spending time with her family and those she loved. Music had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed traveling with her sweetheart, taking cruises and going to Bear Lake where she enjoyed their summer home, the fresh air and sailing on the lake with her family. Janice is survived by her love of 61 years, Lamont, children Sherri (Grant) Swartz; Brad (Stacy); brother Larry (Nancy) Jensen; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Scott. All services will be held at the Cottonwood Heights 1st Ward located at 7075 S. 2250 E. in Cottonwood Heights. A viewing will be held Friday June 7 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will held Saturday June 8, beginning at 12:30 with a viewing held prior at 10:30. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
