Larry H. WhitlockJuly 17, 1937 ~ June 28, 2013Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Larry H. Whitlock died instantly from injuries sustained in an ATV accident on June 28, 2013. Born July 17, 1937 to Harold and Lucy Whitlock in Centerfield, Utah. He married Jackie Sharp on September 20, 1958 in Gunnison, Utah; later sealed in the Jordan River Temple. Larry was valedictorian of Mayfield School and graduated from Manti High School in 1955. He graduated from Stevens-Henager Business College. He was a successful CPA and later became the Chief Examiner for the State of Utah Insurance Department. Larry served honorably in the Army Reserve. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church giving freely of his time while serving others.He was loved for his quiet strength, honesty and dependability. He was known as a hard worker who enjoyed building and repairing things for family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, ATV riding and working with his beloved wife in their beautiful yard. He was an avid reader and always enjoyed playing a game of Bridge or Pinochle with his good friends. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, and three children: Marianne Whitlock-Pierson, Shannon Rice (Mitch) and John (Doug); five grandchildren: Ethan, Clint, Connor, Rylee and Raegan; his siblings Lanor (Lynda), David and Melinda. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sherwood and his faithful Golden Retriever Chelsea.The family would like to express their gratitude for the tremendous response and support from family, friends and neighbors.Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday July 6, 2013, at the Corner Canyon LDS Chapel, 13006 South Boulter Street (1480 E) in Draper, Utah. A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 5 and from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral on Saturday.
