Evelyn Newell Day1930 ~ 2013Clearfield, UtahEvelyn Newell Day, age 83, beloved mother, passed away August 8, 2013 with her loved ones by her side. Born April 24, 1930 in Orem, Utah to Arthur and Zina Newell. After graduating from Orem High School she married Simpson (Tunney) Day in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 8, 1948.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and is survived by her children Doreen (Steve) Byington, Christine (Ned) Young, Ilene (Sterling) Neblett, Sharon (Max) Blair, Roger (Barbara) Day, Sam (Cindy) Day, Janette (Richard) Merrill, Ray (Susan) Ennis; 45 grand children; 90 great-grand children; and three great-great grand children. She is also survived by her siblings, Ramona (Mel) Mortensen, Grant (Joy) Newell, Larry Newell, and sister-in-law Joan Newell.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Syracuse 4th ward chapel, 1100 W. 1625 S., Syracuse. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 13th from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, and Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Syracuse City cemetery.
