Wallace Garth Heap1936 ~ 2013Wallace Garth Heap, Hatch Utah, age 77, passed away on August 9th, 2013 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, in Cedar City Utah. He was born January 4th, 1936, in Hatch Utah to James Garth and Theora Barnhurst Heap. He married Marilyn Riggs in the St. George LDS Temple on November 25th, 1955. Wallace grew up on a ranch in Spry, Utah. His family lived and worked on the ranch until they moved to Hatch, Utah when he was 16. He attended school in Panguitch, Utah. Wallace and Marilyn raised their family in Cedar City, Utah. Wallace was involved in the livestock and farming industry his entire life. He was the produce manager at Safeway for 30 years. He also worked as a custodian for the LDS Church for 10 years. He served faithfully in many callings including High Councilor, Bishop, and Stake Presidency member. He and his wife served as missionaries in the Gunnison correctional facility, and two years as temple ordinance workers. Wallace loved people and enjoyed his association with all he met.He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Riggs Heap; children: Cherene Heap, Shera Lyn LeFevre, (Lloyd) Sharla Graf, (Brian) Michael Heap, (Connie) 15 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17th, 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar City Stake Center, 155 East 400 South. Visitation will be at the same location on Friday August 16th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday, August 17th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.Interment will take place at the Hatch, Utah Cemetery.Friends and family are invited to share memories and condolences on line at www.SereniCareofStGeorge.com
