Duane Elwyn Dinning1925 ~ 2013South Jordan, UTDuane Elwyn Dinning passed away Monday August 12, 2013 in South Jordan, Utah at the age of 88, just 4 1/2 months after the death of his wife of 65 years, Nova. Duane was born in Hull, Illinois on May 21, 1925. He was the youngest son of Virgil and Bea Dinning.Duane was married to Nova (Daniels) Dinning of Hannibal MO on June 5, 1948. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were happily married for 65 years and Duane has been very sad and lost since her passing. They were both faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and raised their family in the church.Duane is survived by five children; David Duane Dinning and his wife Ellyn of Westerville, Ohio, Connie Ann Ludwig and her husband Michael of Wylie, Texas, Melinda Dee Dickinson and her husband Russ of Clarkston, Washington, Daniel Ray Dinning and his wife Stephanie of South Jordan, Utah and Jackie Kay Omana and her husband Tay of Gilbert, Arizona.Duane lived in Hull, Illinois till he graduated from high school and while in College in Hannibal, he worked for the railroad testing rails and traveled the country with that job. He helped the war effort during WWII by building airstrips in the South Pacific. In early 1948 he found a job building the new aluminum rolling plant in Riverdale, Iowa. He married Nova and they moved to Davenport Iowa to start a new job at Alcoa and family.He worked at Alcoa as an Electrician till his retirement in 1980, living in Bettendorf, Iowa and finally in Moline, Illinois.In 2008 they moved to Utah to be close to family that would help them in the last years of their life. They have 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Duane was loved and admired by all and will be greatly missed.Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 26, 2013 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah 84070.
