TOOELE — At least two families were displaced by a fire at an apartment complex Wednesday.

Crews were called to the Shady View Apartments, 25 West 600 North, about 12:45 p.m.

"We had one that was totally engulfed, and one that (fire) extended to the exterior," said Tooele Assistant Fire Chief Mike Jensen.

No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Keely Hickman said she was at work when her mother contacted her and told her about the fire.

"She told me that my apartment burned down," she said. "It was really hard to see."

Hickman said she lost several irreplaceable items.

"I had all my pictures, my photo albums, my suitcase, all my books," she said.

Hickman said her boyfriend believed the fire may have been the result of a wiring problem. As of Wednesday afternoon, Jensen said a cause had not been determined.

The Red Cross was helping the families displaced by the fire.
