Virginia Nelson Kelly1913 ~ 2013Virginia Nelson Kelly passed peacefully from this life on August 27, 2013. Virginia was born October, 19,1913 in St. George, Utah to Richard Edward and Nettie Lamb Nelson. She grew up in Fillmore, Utah where she attended Millard High School. She married James Francis Kelly on January 14,1935. Later their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. They raised two daughters, Marianne and Linda. Francis and Virginia were partners in running J. Francis Kelly Department Store in Fillmore.Virginia, commonly known as Virg, was loved by all who knew her. She continually displayed compassion, love, and charity for all. Her loving, selfless example and sweet influence have been a great inspiration and blessing to all who knew her.She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many years teaching primary and always had a special spot in her heart for young children.Virginia was a devoted mother to her daughters, Marianne and Linda. She adored and treasured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews whom she also dearly loved. She found great joy in family gatherings, in making beautiful quilts and baby quilts for everyone in the family. Her hobbies and interests were varied. She loved to garden, was an avid reader, loved to cook, enjoyed following the Jazz games, and took great pleasure in music, particularly enjoying the Tabernacle Choir. While living in Fillmore she participated in the Garden Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Virginia was an amazing woman who was always concerned about others. Her gentle, loving, patient nature will always live in our hearts.Virginia is survived by daughters Marianne (Craig) Mecham, Linda (Russell) Callister. Adoring grandma to James Mecham, Andrea Daynes, Elizabeth Nielsen, Allan Mecham, Kelly Callister, Bradley Callister, Stephanie Andersen. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, her grandson Richard Callister, her sisters, Lillian and Betty, her brothers, Glen, Evan and Eddie.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fillmore City Cemetery, Fillmore, Utah.
