Eighty-five-year-old ex-president Hosni Mubarak's lifelong sentence was recently overturned on appeal and is now being retried. June of last year he was found guilty of his failure to stop the killing of nearly 900 protesters in the 18-day uprising.
Whether this is fully true or not, releasing Mubarak at such a potentially explosive time in Egypt would be unwise. If his appeal of not guilty is complied with in court, it is sure to result in a string of protests, uprisings, and a number of killings not only among the protesters but the police officials and pedestrians as well. His trial should be postponed until Egypt gains more control of its people.
