Nita Hill Campbell Curtis "BLING-BLING"June 16, 1932 August 30, 2013Our mother, a beautiful, radiant, magnificent Woman-of-Light, began her new journey into Spirit encircled by the love and presence of her family and friends in the physical, as well as those beyond the veil.Mom was born to Kate Kathleen Gomm Hill and William Issac Hill in a humble home in Smoot, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Star Valley, Wyoming. She was the youngest of four children. Mom was proud of her rich pioneer heritage, being a second generation child of original pioneer settlers. Mom enjoyed a life replete with many awe-some experiences, all lending to her magnificent ability to act as a consummate teacher, mentor, mother, and friend. She was often referred to as "Grandma Guru" by her grandchildren. She had a fascination for, and deeply enjoyed things of metaphysical and spiritual natures, including astrology, personology, numerology, and positive thinking. Mom always maintained a profound psychic connection with all of her children. Mom was a Student-of-Life, and as such had a voracious appetite for learning. As a life-long advocate of Chiropractic and the holistic healing arts, mom relished engaging anything to do with the human nature and energy work. She was also proud to have completed certification as a Reiki Master. Mom especially enjoyed reading the words of authors such as Napoleon Hill, Dr. Howard Watrous, and Sylvia Browne.Mom was a survivor by nature, and this was especially reflected in her amazing life of perseverance, in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversities. In fact her personality has often been likened to, "trying to round up ten wild stallions into a corral...at the same time". In July of 1949, Mom married Dr. Dennis Dier Campbell (deceased), in the Salt Lake Temple. Later divorced. They brought six children into the world: Robyn Kirk, Dr. Craig D. Campbell, Dr. Shawn D. Campbell, Denise Campbell, Jared H. Campbell, Michelle D. Campbell. In June Of 1977, Mom married Robert Burton Curtis (deceased), who brought his five children in to the mix. Mom was preceded in death by two former husbands, Dr. Dennis Campbell and Robert B. Curtis; her parents, William Isaac Hill and Kate Kathleen Gomm Hill;, brothers, Bill L. Hill and Dean Hill; and sister, Faye Neves. A legacy of a life selflessly served is shared by surviving children: Robyn Kirk, Dr. Craig D. Campbell (Kathy), Dr. Shawn D. Campbell (Teresa), Denise Campbell, Jared H. Campbell (Tamara), Michelle Campbell. This legacy is also shared by18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. At mom's request, in lieu of a traditional funeral and viewing, a Life-Celebration will be held for family and close friends at the home of Dr. Shawn and Teresa Campbell at 6982 Canyon Creek Drive (3385 East) in Cottonwood Heights, on Saturday September 7, beginning at 4:00 p.m. As a reflection of her impeccable and stylish sense of fashion, mom requests attire appropriate for a lively celebration. Casual dress, preferably with bright celebratory colors. Positively no dark or morose formal wear. This is after all, a celebration of mom's rich life.We wish to extend profound gratitude to Gena, Temaire, and Linda at Aspire Hospice for your love and compassion. "Open in the door...I'm coming home!" Online condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
