Teressa was born on January 7, 1923 to Neta Clements Kingsford and Myron Peck Preece in Lewiston, Utah. She was a cherished daughter and sister in her family and was habitually spoiled by her older brothers. She was loved and cherished by all of them throughout their lives. Growing up in Smithfield, Utah, she learned skills of independence at a young age. Hard work helped her to be industrious and self sufficient during difficult economic times. Walking was her favorite form of transportation. She believed in physical exercise and regularly participated in aerobics classes her whole life, until just a few weeks ago.Teressa was blessed with natural beauty and charm. She was married to the love of her life, John Errett Jackson, on February 29, 1960. They were later sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She loved to go to the temple and spent many years doing ordinance work there. She found peace and joy in her membership in the LDS Church and served in many church assignments throughout her life.Teressa enjoyed shopping for clothes and colorful jewelry. It was customary to find her dressed in outfits that had been carefully chosen and accessorized. When shopping she delighted in finding a 'deal'. Working for ZCMI for 29 years, as a hostess in their Tiffin Room and Centennial restaurants, she became an expert at knowing all the great buys in the store. She loved her job, and, after retiring at age 84, remarked, "It gave me plenty of exercise!" She was awarded multiple DIAMOND employee awards. Teressa was a skilled gardener and especially loved to grow flowers. She chose to be surrounded by vivid colors in her home and garden. Her children were precious and dear to her all of her life.
