Thomas Jefferson hoped that if democracy blossomed in the United States of America, other peoples might seek the same for their lands.
Now the majority of the Syrian people have spoken out for representative government and self-determination. To counter such hopeful citizens, a vicious dictator and his backers spray nerve gas — despite such chemicals being outlawed by the world community.
We as Americans must try to counter such a despot with actions that will tie his hands. The U.S. can help to do this by the destruction of Syria's military airfields, communication centers and rocket launchers.
