Vera Ruth Judy Hale1928 ~ 2013Brigham City, UTVera Ruth Judy Hale peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 following a joyous gathering with her eternal companion, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and dear friends.She was born on September 12, 1928 in Saint Anthony, Idaho, the sixth child of Junius Victor and Nellie Jane Roylance Judy.Ruth married her sweetheart, Elgie Jonathan Hale, on August 30, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Married 67 years, they had seven children, 40 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren.Ruth loved reading to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, teaching the gospel, sewing, quilting and cooking. She made every family gathering a banquet of delicious food and fun. Ruth had a flare for making everything she touched beautiful. She found great pleasure in gathering her family and friends, making everyone feel loved and welcome. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her girls shopping and going out to lunch.She served faithfully in many ward and stake callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together with her husband, Elgie, she served two LDS missions, a proselyting mission in Ireland and a temple mission in London, England. They then spent many years serving in the Ogden LDS Temple.Ruth is survived by her sweetheart, Elgie; seven children: Kathy (Jax) Pettey, Brent (Sandra) Hale, Craig (Jamie) Hale, Kristen (Danny) Giatras, Ann (Kevin) Packer, Bob (Beth) Hale, Lisa (Brett) Wells; 40 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren; one brother, Victor Judy.She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Alice Burnham, three brothers: Don, Mark and Clarence Judy.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Box Elder Stake Center, 420 South 800 West, Brigham City, Utah.A viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Box Elder Stake Center.Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
