Bountiful rolled to the victory over Clearfield in the Region 6 opener for both teams. The Braves headed to the half with a 30-0 lead and sailed through the second half, closing out the 44-7 win.
The Braves came out strong agains the Falcons with a 35-yard touchdown pass to Tanner Redding from Trevor Lloyd.
Clearfield failed to get any offense going in the first half while Bountiful continued its dominace with solid offense rolling through the second quarter, with a 33-yard fleid goal and three more touchdowns. That included a 2-yard touchdown run from Houston Heimuli.
Bountiful then scored again with a fumble recovery and 20-yard touchdown run by Sam Merrill.
But the night belonged to Redding, though, with two more touchdown catches on the night, one from Jordan Hayes for 25 yards and the second in the third quarter from Lloyd for 30 yards. Redding ended the night with three touchdowns.
Clearfield had little defense to stop the Braves' offensive attack heading into the locker room down 30-0 at the half. Heimuli capped off the Bountiful scoring with a 1-yard TD run late in the third quarter.
Clearfield scored its only point of the night with a 9-yard scaper for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter by Kelly Thorpe.
Next week in Region 6, Bountiful heads to Layton and Clearfield goes to Woods Cross.
