Irene Stone1928 ~ 2013Irene Taylor Stone, age 84, stepped into the welcoming arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 10th, 2013.Irene was born October 6, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Cora Colvin Taylor and Reuel Taylor. Irene married Rodney Alan Stone on August 6, 1949. She attended Tulsa University. Irene worked as a commercial artist in Washington DC and in Salt Lake City, UT, to help put Rodney through medical school. Mom loved her family and she is dearly loved by them. Survived by her children, Melanie L. Stone (Franchow); Michelle A. Bilanzich (Chris); Craig Taylor Stone (Nicole); grandchildren, Emile Irene Franchow, and Caleb Taylor Stone; and her sister, Corinne Kelly, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Irene was a wonderful artist who worked in both oil and watercolors. Later in life she created beautiful reproductions of antique dolls. She was an amateur geologist and archeologist and was always thrilled when learning about the latest discoveries. Her children and grandchildren will always be grateful for the love of knowledge and beauty that she instilled in us. Irene was a faithful servant to God, her family, and friends, and lived her life with integrity, honor and compassion.For the great care they provided, Irene and her family wish to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Spring Creek Health Care Center. In accordance with her explicit instructions, there will be no funeral.
