Chanda Ivie George 1973 ~ 2013Heaven rejoiced as they welcomed one of Heavenly Father's choicest daughters back home. Chanda passed away September 17, 2013 at home after a valiant fight with stage 4 melanoma cancer. In her last moments, she was surrounded by her family, friends, and loved ones, as they held her hands and said their last good-byes.Chanda was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 24, 1973 to Waine Otto and Lorna Sanford Ivie. As a loving mother, she always put her kids and family first before her own needs. Chanda had a special talent for making friends and deeply affecting the lives of others. She always brought sunshine to everyone she met. She was a beautiful example of how to live a full and happy life, even when the odds and challenges of life were against her. But above all, she was a heroic warrior; putting up a courageous fight to the very end with no complaints allowed. As a firm believer in miracles, she lived it daily. With the possibility of only two months to live, with her faith and determination and the faith and prayers of many others, she gave us an amazing four more years.Chanda was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her callings and always went the extra mile even when she didn't feel well. She especially loved her primary kids, her ward family and her dear Bishop.Fun always came first. Her hobbies included anything that you could do outside. She loved nature. She never passed up a chance to go camping, four-wheeling, fishing, or just having fun. She was a master at fun!Chanda worked for Bud Mahas Construction right out of high school up until her diagnosis of cancer. Those dear people treated her like family, always allowing her job as a mother to be honored without limits. Everyone loved having her at work as much as she loved being there. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and generosity!She is survived by her parents Waine and Lorna Ivie, two sons William Hazen Salisbury and Corbin Waine Salisbury, daughter Ellie Aspen George (her daddy, Cory George), brother Kevin Waine Ivie, sisters Chairl (Peter) Miller, Amber (Weston) Stringham, Amanda Ivie, and many adoring extended family members. Preceded in death by her sister Angela Ivie.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Orchard 1st Ward, 3707 S. 800 W. Bountiful. Friends and family may visit Friday from 6-8 pm at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Sat. from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment Springville City Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Chanda's honor to the Huntsman Cancer Center, 1950 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112 Chanda had an unfathomable amount of love to give and never stopped giving until her dying breath.
