LOGAN — Utah State's Kyler Fackrell earned honorable mention National Linebacker of the Week honors from College Football Performance Awards following Utah State's 17-14 loss at USC this weekend.
Fackrell earned the award twice last season, making this his third honor in his career.
Fackrell, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound sophomore from Mesa, Ariz. (Mesa HS), had four tackles against USC on Saturday. He had two sacks on USC quarterback Cody Kessler for losses of three and four yards each.
Toledo's Junior Syvestre was named the CFPA National Linebacker Performer of the Week. Fackrell joined Robert Caldwell (North Carolina State), Telvin Smith (Florida State), Norkeithus Otis (North Carolina), Chase Murdock (Toledo) and Art Laurel (Hawaii) as honorable mention honorees.
Utah State is back in Mountain West action this weekend as it travels back to California to take on San Jose State. The Spartans and Aggies play Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. MT live on ESPN.
