Joyce Ludwig1932 ~ 2013Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with many health problems. Born September 8, 1932 in Richfield, Utah to WallaceLowell Castleton and Laura Rynders, the fifth of six children.She graduated from East High and attended the University of Utah. Joyce married her sweetheart "Bill" (just two weeks after he returned from his mission) in the Salt Lake Temple on July 22, 1952. They were blessed with five children: Lorraine Cook (Randy) Sharon Hunter, Mike Ludwig (Julie) AnnetteBertch, and Kathy.Mom had a strong testimony and love of the gospel, and was always active in the LDS Church. She loved her callings in Primary and Relief Society. Joyce had a gift for writing poetry and loved learning about her ancestors. She was a fabulous cook, loved gardening, and kept a tidy home. Mom will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and wit. She loved her family - especially her 16 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren(three on the way).She is survived by her four children, her siblings: Dick Castleon (Jean, deceased), Marge Kjar (Morrie), Grant Castleton (Anne), and Judy Soderberg (Bob). She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, daughter Kathy, brother David B. Castleton (Debbie), and parents.Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah from 5-7 p.m., and one hour prior to services. Internment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
