Elfriede (Ellen) Franziska Anderson1934 ~ 2013Salt Lake CityElfriede (Ellen) Franziska Anderson, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 28th 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on November 6th, 1934 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to Franz and Dorothea Noll. Elfriede grew up in Kaiserslautern, Germany with her Grandfather, Heinrich Gass, her mother Dorothea and her sister, Honnelore. As a young woman, she worked on an American Air Force Base where she met her husband, Lt. Col. Arthur J. Anderson in 1953; they were wed on July 14th, 1955 and happily married for 58 years. Elfriede, also known as Oma, loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was blessed with many. She had a great affection for the dogs in her life, and was known to take in the strays that her children would bring home. She was an amazing cook, and she always made sure there was enough to feed a crowd. She was, most importantly, an extraordinary woman, wife and mother. We will miss her so much. Elfriede is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Anderson; and children; Terry (Sue) Anderson; Evelyn (Danny) Dodd; Wesley (Michelle) Anderson; Heide Anderson; and Dale (Melissa) Anderson; as well as fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Honnelore Snelling. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Memorial, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014. A viewing will be held the same day at Mountain View Memorial at 1:00pm prior to the memorial service.
