Anita Nelson Preuss1929 ~ 2014Anita Preuss, 85, passed away on January 19, 2014 in Draper, Utah. She was born January 9, 1929, in Murray, Utah to Conrad Leonard Nelson and Elizabeth Ann Thaxton. Anita attended Murray schools graduating from Murray High. In 1951 she married Lothar Preuss, (divorced in 1982), they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend school. Lothar's jobs then took them to many places and countries, including San Francisco, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, New York, and Puerto Rico. She has visited many countries in Europe. Anita speaks English, Spanish, some German and a little Swedish.Anita loved to quilt and do plastic canvas work and needle point. Anita was a Salt Lake Temple worker for many years. She loved her home in Sugar House and all of her friends in the ward there. Anita worked 19 years for First Security Bank retiring in March 1996; she made many friends among her coworkers.Anita had one sister, Merelda. They did many things together. Merelda passed away in 2008. Anita never had children of her own, but she had six nieces and nephews, Karen Smith, Ken Smith (Kathy), Lee Smith, Anita Smith, Annette Runia (Mark) of Draper and Marv Smith (Ramona) of West Jordan. She has enjoyed them over the years, and their families have multiplied to now include nine great nieces and nephews and 20 great, great nieces and nephews. She is indeed loved by her family.A graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Taylorsville Cemetery, 4575 S. Redwood Road.
