Kristopher Jon MagnussonApril 5, 1967 ~ January 17, 2014Kristopher Jon Magnusson, passed away on January 17, 2014, Santa Rosa, CA, from complications of the H1N1 virus. Kris was born April 5, 1967, Provo, Utah, to Kjartan T. Magnusson and Judith Ann Done Bowers. Kris was gifted in music and writing. He learned to read as a toddler, became an accomplished drummer, played in the Granite Youth Symphony, and composed electronic music. He served a summer internship in Washington DC for Congressman Howard C. Nielsen. He graduated from Robert Frost Elementary, Valley Jr. High, and Taylorsville High School. Kris earned his AS degree, Salt Lake Community College and his BS degree, University of Utah in Economics. He applied his gifts in the computer industry, notably Novell, Microsoft, Adobe, and his last place of employment, Moody's Corp. Kris was influential in creating the Java program and co-authoring several related books. He was an avid Trekkie, planned to write a sequel for the Star Wars series, and followed the NASA Space Program closely. He enjoyed cross-country skiing in Utah's back country and loved riding the back roads of Sonoma and Napa Valleys on his BMW motorcycle. He accomplished much, loved much, and was loved in return.Kris is survived by his wife Rachel Anne (Hunt) of Sonoma, CA; his parents K.T. (Jill) & Judy Bowers (Paul); sisters Kelly Anne Figueroa (Ernest) of Carson City, NV, and Janae Magnusson; step-children Austin and Forrest; aunts Linda Serabia (Ken) and Jacalyn Done; nieces and nephew Tatiana, Emilie, Kiana and Max; and his cat, Sasha.In compliance with his wishes there will be no funeral services.Memorial Page: https://www.facebook.com/kris.magnusson.tribute
