Twenty-six missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints returned to Tacloban, Philippines, on Jan. 28, after the Tacloban Mission was temporarily closed in early November as a result of Typhoon Haiyan, according to Mormon Newsroom.

The LDS Church will continue to provide aid to residents of the devastated island, and missionaries will be a part of those efforts.

“They will be doing what they have been called to do, which is to invite all to come unto Christ. However, they will also be performing service for members of the church and others in the local communities as they rebuild their homes,” Philippines Area President Brent H. Nielson said.
