Letter: 79 cents

Dear senators and representatives:

Please raise my taxes. Not by a lot, just 79 cents per year. There is a child in a village a few hours east of here whose life is on the line. That child needs my 79 cents in order to live. I don’t know his name and I don’t know which village. I do know that he, his sister and millions of other children are being stalked by silent, deadly enemies: enemies with names like polio, measles, rotavirus and pneumococcus.

Please take my 79 cents tax donation and pool it with my neighbor’s. Take a bold stand and fully fund America’s commitment to save the world’s children with immunizations. The U.S. needs to take a strong lead in this cause.

Seventy-nine cents each. Not too much to ask.
