SALT LAKE CITY — Police were looking late Saturday for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that injured an 11-year-old boy.

The boy was struck about 7:30 p.m. near 800 South and 900 West, said Salt Lake police detective Richard Chipping. The boy was taken to Primary Children's Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life threatening.

Chipping could not elaborate on the details of the accident, including whether the boy was a pedestrian. A description of the vehicle given to police yielded little information, other than the vehicle was red, Chipping said.
