PROVO — Though the scoring slowed down markedly in the second half, BYU set a new high scoring mark in the Bronco Mendenhall era in its 64-0 victory over Savannah State on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
The 64 points bests the 62 the Cougars put up against Air Force in Mendenhall's first season as head coach, in 2005. This time, the high amount of points came against a lower-level FCS opponent, the third time in the top 10 scoring games under Mendenhall that this has happened.
Saturday's contest came with plenty of flavor to get to the final mark of 64.
