When it rains, it pours, and the rain continues to fall on the Utah football team following its 42-10 loss to Arizona Saturday afternoon.
The Utes (7-4, 4-4) dropped out of both the AP Writers Poll and the Amway Coaches Poll on Sunday, where they were previously ranked No. 20 and No. 21, respectively.
Utah received 19 votes to tie Arkansas with the third-most of the teams just outside of the coaches poll. The Utes joined Nebraska, USC and Duke as teams to slip out of the coaches rankings.
Arizona, on the other hand, moved up to No. 12 in both polls. The Wildcats were No. 13 in the coaches poll and No. 15 in the AP poll last week.
Oregon, UCLA and Arizona State round out the Pac-12 teams in both polls. All four teams are among the top 13 in each poll.
Louisville, Clemson, Boise State and Minnesota each moved into both top 25 polls this week.
Alabama jumped ahead of Florida State for the top spot in the coaches poll, while Oregon, Mississippi State and TCU each remained stable for the third, fourth and fifth spots.
Florida State remains No. 1 in the AP poll, with the Alabama, Oregon and Mississippi State right behind. The only change in the top five in the AP poll came in the race for the fifth spot, where Baylor slipped past fellow Big 12 member TCU.
Utah State received a vote this week in the coaches poll.
The College Football Rankings committee won't release their updated rankings until Tuesday.
