Going off to college provides young adults the opportunity to define and refine their habits and beliefs, and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who attend Harvard University are no different, according to a Feb. 13 article in The Harvard Crimson.
In their piece titled "Meet the Mormons," staff writers Meg P. Bernhard and Molly E. Wharton explore how LDS missions, a strict health code and frequent church activities factor into the busy lives of Latter-day Saints immersed in a secular, competitive environment.
While challenges exist, these students hold to the faith of their youth, embracing opportunities to strengthen it.
“I think my faith is challenged every day,” Aticus A. Peterson told The Harvard Crimson. “I think in the questions that I get from people that I meet, it helps me think about why I believe what I believe. ... I’m better because of the diversity here at Harvard,” he says.
