SALT LAKE CITY — New information has led Salt Lake police to renew its search for a woman who has been missing since 2002.

Investigators have received new information about the case and are seeking help from those who knew Aletha Jo Williams. She was reported missing by her family in May 2002, according to Salt Lake police. The family had not been in contact with Williams for two months, which was not out of the ordinary.

She was last seen on March 6, 2002, when she left her personal effects at a relative's house near 1700 S. West Temple. She said she would return but did not. There have not been any other signs of Williams.

Police described Williams, who went by Ali or Ally, as 25 years old and 6 months pregnant at the time she went missing. She was black, 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, 140 pounds, with piercings to her ears and tongue, and the name "Shawn" was tattooed on her wrist.

Police are offering a cash reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those associated with her disappearance.
