George S. Worthen III1949 ~ 2014Early in the morning of March 18, 2014, George S. Worthen III, age 64 passed away in San Leandro, California after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was born on December 18, 1949 to George S. Worthen II and Grace E. Worthen in Salt Lake City, Utah. While attending Granite High School he excelled in all three sports he played: Track, Wrestling, and his favorite Football. A few years after graduation, he moved his family to the Bay Area of California where he resided until his recent passing. George is survived by his wife, Julie Goodman (divorced) and their sons Todd, Tyler, and Trenton, his 90 year old mother Grace, sister Linda (Steve) Duckworth, brother Gary (Mary). He is also survived by life partner Kathy Clark mother of Melanie Clark Corio (Ron) and Mike Clark (Mary), eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He is predeceased by his father, George, and nephew Darren. George was dedicated to his work in the Office Furniture Industry for over three decades where he made many lifelong friends and some who are family. He was always generous with anything he had including his time. He was compassionate and cared for the needs of his partner, Kathy for which her family is forever grateful. He was the boss of the grill and he enjoyed time with family and friends over a good meal. He was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. He will be remembered with love for his generous heart, candor, wit and humorous personality. He loved his children and grandchildren. Whenever possible there was pizza and a sleepover at Grandpa's. We would like to honor his memory and hope that he knows he will be missed by all. Peace be with you, George. A celebration of George's life will be held on Saturday April 5, 2014 in San Leandro California.
