Gordon William Everitt1937 ~ 2014Cottonwood Heights, UTGordon William Everitt, 76, died April 14, 2014 at his home in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Gordon was born September 25, 1937 in Burnley, Lancashire, England to James William Martin & Emma Eastwood Everitt. He married his sweetheart, Cynthia Robinson on Sept. 16, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.Gordon had a love of people and a love of learning. His hobbies included spending time with his family, woodworking, travel, DIY projects, reading and writing. Gordon served 2 years National Service in the British Army. He also served an LDS mission to the North British mission. Over the years his career path has varied, from research to management and eventually to teaching. Whether the job was big or small, he gave it his all. He spent 23 years passionately sharing his love of the law to paralegal students. He frequently spoke fondly of his youth in England and of the time he and Cynthia spent in Houston, Texas. Devoted husband, loving father, faithful disciple of Christ and a friend to all.He is survived by his wife - Cynthia, son- Malcolm, daughter-in-law - Natalie, his sister- Vera Simpson, his niece-Glenys and her husband John Wright and many more loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Allen, Jim, Jack and Stanley Everitt.A viewing will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12 Noon at Cottonwood Heights 3rd Ward, 6890 South Whitmore Way, Salt Lake City, Utah.
