Dennis Carl Peterson1946 ~ 2014Dennis Carl Peterson, 68, our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on April 1, 2014 in West Jordan, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl Leonard Peterson and Betty Holland. Dennis married Cheryl Lee Williams on February 17, 1968 in Nephi, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He was in the forefront of the computer technology revolution, developing systems for the healthcare industry. Dennis enjoyed golfing with his friends and was a member of the Mountain View Men's Association. He also enjoyed skiing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family. He attended Snow College and Utah State University on tennis scholarships. He completed his degree at the University of Utah. Survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Rodney (Jana) Peterson, Laura (Bret) Ogden, LeAnn (Randy) Nelson and Gene Peterson; eight grandchildren; mother, Betty Peterson; brother, Bruce Peterson; sisters, JoAnn (Henry) Shields and Joyce (Ronald) Runyan. Preceded in death by his father, Carl.A special thanks to the medical staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Intermountain Medical Center and Jordan Valley Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Mountain Shadows 7th Ward, 7925 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah and one hour prior to the services, at the church.
