SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Labor Commission and Utah Occupational Safety and Health Administration has announced its annual Young Worker Safety & Health Campaign.

The young labor force of 16- to 24-year-olds working or actively looking for work grows sharply between April and July of each year, according to the commission. During these months, many high school and college students take summer jobs, and many graduates enter the labor market to begin permanent employment.

Each year, the Utah OSHA Consultation and Education Services Section provides two booklets designed to address some of the most frequently asked questions about occupational safety and health by young workers and their parents.

The Parents Guide to Youth Workers and the Youth Workers Guide are both available at www.laborcommission.utah.gov.
