WEST VALLEY CITY — Police suspect alcohol was a factor in a high-speed crash that ended with an SUV crashing through the walls of a meat business.

Just before 8 a.m., a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed on 3500 South near 5300 West drifted off the road, hit a large power pole, continued across a front yard, crashed into a large tree and through the brick walls of Hunsaker Meats, 5303 W. 3500 South, said West Valley Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.

Taylor said a 15- to 20-foot section of the power pole was damaged, knocking out power to a nearby neighborhood. The section of tree that was hit was also as thick as a power pole, he said.

Pimoteyo Walden, 24, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence with a suspended driver's license.

Walden suffered only a bloody nose from the airbag, Taylor said.
